Christmas Tags

I have a confession.  I am gift wrapping challenged.  You would think a paper crafter would be better at wrapping gifts but it's just not my thing.
All these gifts are for my son's girlfriend.  No I didn't go overboard...hmmm well maybe a little.  It's so much fun for a mom of two boys to shop for a GIRL!
To try to make up for my lack of wrapping skills, I made this set of gift tags for her gifts.

Christmas Card

This is the card I made for the dog groomer.  Izzy goes to the groomer more frequently than I go to the hair dresser...lol!
I decided to go with non Christmas paper and I think it turned out cute.

Fairy Christmas

Oh my the count down has begun.  There are only 19 days until Christmas.  Are you done with your Christmas cards?  Mine are going in the mail today.  Whew!  It did help to make a card a week with the 52 CCT.  Of course there were several weeks that I made 2 or 3 cards.  I like making and sending Christmas card.  I think the post office likes me too...I keep them in business.
The final challenge for 2015 is to create a card using any of our previous themes from 2015.  I chose to use the August sketch.
This card is for my son's girlfriend.

Yesterday was my sister's 50th birthday.  I decided to make her a card that was a little bit feminine, cute and had an element of fun.  I liked the 50 Rocks sentiment but didn't want to send her 50 actual rocks in the mail so I found this package of pop rocks to use instead.

Christmas Scene

The theme this week at 52 CCT is to use sponging or brayering on your card.  This is the first time I have created a scene using my inks and sponges.  I love the way the snowy scene turned out.  So much so that I included a new set of sponge daubers on my Christmas list.  I did add some white embossing powder for falling snow.

Tis The Season To Be Fabulous

I decided to use some nontraditional colors for this Christmas card.  It's always fun to create a Christmas card using other colors and patterns.  This is my DT card for the current challenge at Aud Sentiments.  This week we are sponsored by Lacy Sunshine Stamps and the theme is Anything Goes with a Sentiment.
I colored her with copics and then used the old rag technique for the fur trim on her hat

Rejoice

I think I have said it enough times but here goes again, Christmas cards are my favorite cards to make!  If you are like me and really enjoy making Christmas cards then you should put your name in the hat to become a member of the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Design Team.  You can find our all the details on the 52 CCT blog.
The challenge this week at 52 CCT is to use the colors Green and Purple.  I have had this image for awhile from Eureka Stamps and thought these colors were perfect.

Winter Blessings

It's the first Saturday of the month so it's sketch day at 52 CCT.  If you have been playing along with us all year, you should be just about done or actually finished with your Christmas cards.  If you haven't started, this sketch is just perfect. It's simple and versatile.
For my card, I decided to use another snowman from the set I received from My Artistic Adventures.
I added some gold spica pen details and stickles to three of the snowflakes on the pattern paper to complete the sketch.

Take Time To Chase Snowflakes

We have a fun challenge for you this week at Aud Sentiments.  We're playing bingo!

I used the far right column (pattern paper, flowers, diecut) and The middle row (Ribbon/lace, digi image, flowers).  I plan to fill this french fry container with small gifts or treats at Christmas.  It would also make a nice hostess gift for one of our many Christmas parties
We are sponsored by My Artistic Adventures

Elf Christmas Card

Happy Halloween!
I have a Christmas card to share with you today.  I love making Christmas cards and by completing one a week, I am nearing completion of all the cards I need to send out this year.
The challenge this week at 52 CCT is to pick a previous theme.  I chose Elves from the June 2015 challenge.  You can pick any of our previous themes for your card.
I went a little crazy with the pattern paper.  I had several scraps from previous cards so I decided to work them all together.

Birthday Cards

A couple of the DT members at Aud Sentiments weren't able to complete their cards for the challenge so I got to play with these two fun stamps from Stitchy Bear Stamps.
I tried a new to me coloring technique for the bear.  After coloring with copics like normal, I used the old rag technique to add the look of texture to his fur.  I simply colored the tips of an old washcloth with my copics and then dabbed onto the bear.  I am really pleased with the way he turned out.  It was super simple to do.

For my second card, I thought this guy looked a little green around the gills. Just like he had partied too hard the night before for his birthday.  So I chose a funky green color.  I will probably put together a hangover kit to go along with this card

Time To Celebrate

My dad celebrated his 75th birthday over the weekend.  We had a fabulous time checking off one of the items on his bucket list, going up in a hot air balloon.  We waited a very long time for the wind to die down so that the balloons could go up.  It was worth the wait.
This is the card I made for him.  It's very simple and I hope masculine.
