Digi Doodle Shop Challenge #79 Green and Purple

The challenge this week at Digi Doodle Shop's Challenges is to use the colors Green and Purple. You can create a card, altered item, scrapbook page, tag, etc as long as you follow the color challenge.

For my card, I used one of the new images from the Digi Doodle Shop called Christmas Ornaments.
I couldn't resist making one of the ornaments a different color. The whole time I was coloring I had the song from Sesame Street in my head.

"One of these things is not like the others.

One of these things doesn't belong.

Can you guess which thing is not like the others

by the time I finish my song?"

Are you singing it now?

We would love to have you join us in this challenge. Simply create a project using the colors Green and Purple and link it up HERE for your chance to win a gift certificate to the Digi Doodle Shop.

Sassy Studio Designs Steampunk Party

Sassy Studio Designs now has 500 followers on Paper Craft Planet. Of course, that means a party and a party wouldn't be complete without gifts and lots of them. You can read all the details about the party either on PCP or down at the end of my post.

Lindsay the very talented artist behind Sassy Studio Designs has created a new set Steampunk images just for this event. You are going to just fall in love with these images. I sure did. Here is my card made using the very first Sassy Studio Designs Steampunk image.

The die cut gears were made using the Indie Art Cricut cart at 2.5 inches.

The metal gears are from Tim Holtz. I painted them with Cherry Burgandy nail polish and then put a layer of Fractured Foil Crackle Polish over the top. The metal rectangle is a junk item I found on the floor. I picked it up thinking I would find a use for it someday. It works great with this card.

For the inside of the card, I used the scraps of paper and then cut out additional gears with my cricut.
Sassy Studio Designs is giving away this Steampunk image on our Challenge Blog. If you would like to get more free Steampunk images, then you will have to participate in the progressive challenge. All you have to do is create a project using this image along with metal embellishments and post in on the Challenge Blog. Everyone that creates a project with this image will then have the opportunity to get another image. You will have the opportunity to receive a total of 4 Steampunk images as well as some sentiments to go along with them. At the end of the week, one lucky winner will receive 2 images of their choice from Sassy Studio Designs.
Also, on the day of the party, we will have additional free images available for EVERYONE!

And there is one more amazing prize...

We will be running a contest for followers on PCP to suggest images for Lindsay to draw. One lucky winner will be chosen and the image will be named after that person. How cool is that! The image will be released in December.

Witch Bottles

I found these fabulous brown bottles at a flea market. I thought they would work great as ingredient jars for my witch. I cut the labels out of white vinyl using my Cricut. I wanted to do the labels in black but it didn't show up well against the brown bottle so I opted for white. My next goal is to find corks to fit the bottles.

Here is my witch. I call her my fancy lady so my daycare kids aren't scared of her. They just love all the colors in her outfit, her pretty orange hair and jewelry. I did not make her. I bought her at a silent auction about 10 years ago.

I bought the witches cauldron at the same silent auction. Isn't that a clever idea! The legs are made out of wood and then covered in halloween socks. The lady who made it said she bought the shoes at the local goodwill store. When we have halloween parties, I put a bowl of dry ice in the cauldron. The kids love it!

Cricut cuts for the labels:

Frankenstein

Happy Sunday everyone! I am hoping today is another beautiful day. Yesterday, the weather was PERFECT! I spent the day shopping with my oldest son for clothes for his senion pictures. Where did the time go? Probably cliche to say but, it really does seem like just yesterday we sent him off to kindergarten

For my project today, I am using one of the new images from Sassy Studio Designs October release. These images will be available for purchase on October 15th. Isn't Frank scary? I tried to make him look even more scary by using some gray along with the greens on his face and hands. Hope I achieved the look I was going for.

I used the sketch from Sunday Sketch and Stamp. Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring their current challenge.

Monster Truck Cake

My nephew, Clayton, turned 6 years old last week. His theme for his party was Monter Truck Sandbox. All his friends got to play with monster trucks in his sandbox and they had a great time. I made the cake for his party. The bottom layer is 12 inches round. I used black fondant to make it look like a monster truck tire. The top layer is 8 inches and I tried to make that look like his sandbox with crushed up nilla wafers. The party was alot of fun and I can't believe Clayton is already 6!
