Never Gonna Grow Up

Another masculine birthday card.  It seems like I need several of them this time of year.  I made this one for another of my brother in laws.  The image and sentiment is from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I used the sketch from Mojo Monday and kept the card simple.

Captain Thunderpants

This is my DT card for Aud Sentiments. Our theme for this challenge is Masculie + A Sentiment.
Cards for guys are always hard but luckily our sponsor for this challenge, Dr. Digi's House of Stamps, has some fun images that are just perfect for the men in our lives.
I chose to use Captain Thunderpants for my card.  It's gotten to be a standing tradition for me to make a card for my brother in law's birthday using the theme of farting.  This image is just perfect!  I cut the sentiment words from the Batman Cricut cartridge. I kept the card design simple since I think the image and sentiment are bold enough to stand on their own.

Valentine Card

I just love this image from Sassy Cheryl's! Her images are always fun and remind me of my childhood. That little dog also reminds me of my dog, Isabella.
I started with nontraditional Valentine colors for this card and then added a touch of pink. The heart border and corner punch is from Martha Stewart. It makes a great frame for the card.

Winter Card

I love the way this card turned out.  I finally had a chance to use my new snowflake nesting frame die set from Yvonne Creations.  I can tell already that this die set is going to get lots of use on my projects. Not only does it come with this gorgeous snowflake circle, it also has 3 other circle dies to make layering a breeze.
I fussy cut out Tilda and she sits just perfectly with the pattern paper that it looks like she is holding one of the snowflakes.  I couldn't have planned that better. (I didn't really plan it. It was a happy coincidence)

Christmas Angel

Christmas card #2 done!  This angel is Angelic Wishes from Tiddly Inks. I kept the card simple so that it can be mailed more easily.  I have my master Christmas card list created so I know which cards will need to be mailed and which cards will be hand delivered.  Since it is just too expensive to mail lots of cards with bulky embellishments, I need to plan accordingly.  Even though this one is flat, I love the way the embossing enamel and stickles added to the card.

College Graduation

My oldest son graduated from college last month.  He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and a Bacheleors of Arts in Environmental Science.  He will be doing a 10 month internship with the National Fish and Wildlife before he starts his masters degree.
I wanted his card to be simple, yet fun so I made this twist and pop card for him. The grad hat and numbers are from Cricut cartridges and the arrows are sizzix dies.

Love Is A Gift

I spent today crafting instead of cleaning.  I'll regret that later when I am scrambling to clean house Sunday evening. Anyway, I decided to get started on Valentine cards. Those are always fun to make because the more frills, glitter and flowers you use, the better the card...right?  The best thing about this card is I had everything in my stash.  The heart with the arrow is a magnolia doohickey die that came with one of the kits and I never used it before today.  Almost like getting something new!  The card shape I created using the Storybook Cricut cartridge. I welded the shapes together to form the card. My husband bought me lots of new flowers for Christmas so I am finally getting a change to use some of them. I just love those tiny little rosebuds!

We Believe In Santa Paws

Our dog groomer held a fundraiser in December for the local animal shelter.
We could bring our pets to visit Santa Paws and have pictures taken all for a donation to the shelter.  We were dog sitting for my parents at the time so their dog, Teddy joined us for pictures.
It was so much fun and such a great cause.
This is my DT project for Aud Sentiments.  Our first challenge of 2017 is Anything Goes + A Sentiment.  Since my boys are all grown up and I don't have grandchildren yet, Izzy gets to be the focus of most of my pictures and scrapbook layouts.
Project Details:
Stocking: Magnolia dies
Reindeer: Cottage Cutz dies
Christmas tree: Spellbinders dies
Martha Stewart branch punch
Dog bones: Paper Pups Cricut cartridge
Gift: Cricut cartridge

First Christmas Card of 2017

Happy New Year!  I hope 2017 brings you many blessings.

This is the first challenge of the year for Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge Extra!
I spent some time after Christmas organizing my Christmas card list. I wrote down all the Christmas cards, gift tags, gift card holders, thank you cards etc I need to make and organized by family. I also made sure I updated addresses. I keep all of this written on index tabs I made for a storage box. Each recipient has their own divider. As I make my projects, I will put them in the box along with the addressed envelope. This makes it so much easier in December when I am ready to take cards to post office. This also helps me know whose card can have extra big embellishments and won't need to be mailed and which cards need to be more post office friendly. I have even purchased my wrapping paper at the after Christmas sales. Now I can make my gift tags ahead of time so they match.

So if you want to be more organized and get your Christmas cards done earlier this year, then participating in the monthly challenges at Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Card Challenge Extra is the perfect way to do so. All the challenges are anything Christmas goes so lets see what you can do!
