Warm Winter Wishes

I just love how this card turned out.  I colored up this little cutie back at the end of summer when the temperatures were in the 90's.  It was hard to imagine at that time that it would ever be cold again.
Again for this card I used my spellbinders dies to create the card shape.  I love the red and grey colors together.  The greenery is actually a small bit cut from a floral spray I bought at Michael's. It works just perfectly with an added bow as an embellishment on my cards. I used some white embossing enamel to look like falling snow and added a bit of cheese cloth between a couple layers of paper.
It's mid month so you still have time to enter the Crafty Hazel Nuts Christmas Extra Challenge. It's our last challenge of 2016.

Mistletoe Kisses

This is my DT card for Aud Sentiments. The theme is Christmas for Your Love + A Sentiment.
It's our last challenge of 2016.

Santa and his reindeer look like they are giving Eskimo kisses so this image is just perfect to send to someone you love.  I'll probably give to my husband or one of my sons so they can say, "mooom!"
The sentiment actually says "Snowflake wishes and eskimo kisses" but I just inked up the mistletoe kisses.

Reindeer Games

Today starts the last challenge of 2016 at Crafty Hazel Nut's Christmas Extra Challenge.
Are you ready for Christmas?
I'm not.  Despite starting in January with my Christmas cards, I still have much to do.
I used my spellbinders dies to create this card shape.  I think I got into a rut with square cards so I am trying to mix it up a bit.
This cute little reindeer is from Bugaboo Stamps and they are sponsoring the challenge.

Winter Card

It's Black Friday.  Are you shopping?  I will be shopping online this year.  I really hate crowds and the hoards of people out on black Friday are really just too much.  Sitting at my computer while wearing my pj's and drinking hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps sounds much more appealing to me.
I'm still making shaped cards.  Earlier this year when I was having neck and shoulder pain it was too difficult for me to do much crafting.  I was able to do some coloring though.  So I inked up lots of my stamps and printed out lots of digi images and sat in front of the tv and colored.  I now have this huge stack of colored images so I trying to get them onto cards.  This is such a backwards process for me since I usually choose my stamp, then pick my papers and card design before I color the images.  When I colored these images up earlier I was just hoping I would find papers in my stash that would coordinate.  So far, I have had pretty good luck.

Fa La La La La

For this card I merged three images from Mo's Digital Pencil.  These little elves just looked like they would be part of a choir to me.
I have kept the card design simple so that it can be mailed.  However, I did add a little white flower soft to the hat trim and a few gems to the holly.

Merriest of Merry Christmas

I'm having fun making shaped cards with my spellbinders dies.  They are super easy to make and is a nice change from my usual square cards.
This little Tilda stamp is going to appear on several cards this year. I have colored her up several times.  I found this great paper stack at Michael's from the Recollections line called Christmas Noel. The papers are a little more modern in colors so I can see another trip to Michael's in my future.
The sentiment stamp is also from Magnolia Stamps. I made a little smudge so I covered it up with an ornament I cut out of one of the pattern papers.  Nobody will ever know...

Birthday Easel Card

This card is for my sister-in-law's birthday.  I made the easel card using spellbinders dies. There are lots of layers but I love the way it turned out.  I had these papers in my stash for awhile and decided they would look great paired with this Tilda in Hat from Magnolia Stamps. It's one of the first Magnolia stamps I purchased several years ago.  The button is an old one I found in my button jar.  Everyone has a button jar, right?  I add to it when I find buttons at estate sales.  I added a bit of cheesecloth behind a few layers. I think it matches up with the veil on her hat nicely.  I inked all the edges of the paper with walnut distress ink and then added some shabby pink embossing enamel.

Santa Family Selfie

When I saw this image at The Paper Shelter, I thought it was so appropriate for a Christmas card. I'm sure our family will be taking a lots of pictures and even a few selfies this year.
I thought since the image was so much fun, that I should keep the rest of the card design simple.  I found this great sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

Deck The Halls

Are you getting ready to Deck The Halls at your house?  I have several friends who have already decorated for Christmas.  I am waiting for my long weekend over Thanksgiving to give the house a deep cleaning and then put up my Christmas decor.  My husband about fainted when I told him I did not plan to put up any of our Christmas trees this year.  I tend to go overboard with the decor so needless to say, he was a bit surprised. Of course, it's only mid November so I  have plenty of time to change my mind.  hahaha
Anyway, my card for the midweek reminder of Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas extra challenge uses this adorable Tilda image from the fall Magnola Stamp club. I just love that little heart on her bottom.
After stamping and coloring her, I fussy cut her and added to my card. The background paper looks like old barn wood. I cut the red door using my cricut. The two trees are spellbinders die.

I hope you join us in this challenge.  Only a few weeks left to get cards done for mailing.  I have most of my cards that go in the mail done. Now I get to have a little more fun with 3D embellishments for the remainder of my Christmas cards that do not need to be mailed.

Stamp: Magnolia Stamps

Happy Winter

It's the first of the month so that means a new challenge at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Extra.
Wait....
It's November!
I have got to get busy counting and figuring out if I have enough Christmas cards. I already know I don't. I do however have enough cards made that need to go in the mail. The rest of my cards will be hand delivered so that means more embellishments...the bulkier the better.

This card was super quick but looks great. The paper already had the design. I just added the Xmas Brat sitter with presents from Bugaboo. I did add the corner snowflakes and the sentiment in the bottom right.
I hope you join us for this challenge.

Deck The Halls

It's time for a new challenge at Aud Setiments.
The theme for this challenge is Cute + A Sentiment.

Wait a minute! Are you looking at my card and thinking, "where is her sentiment?"
One of our challenge rules is that you have to have a sentiment on your project but your sentiment can be on the inside of the card and not just the front. Sooo....

Here is the inside of my card.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Bugaboo Stamps.  I have used Xmas Teddy2 Ornaments for the front of my card. The inside image is also from Bugaboo.

Magical Birthday

This is the birthday card I made for my dad.
The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil.  It reminds me of when my boys were younger. One Halloween my youngest dressed up as the magician and my oldest was the rabbit coming out of the hat.  They were super cute and even won a costume contest.

Double Pocket Card

This is my first double pocket card. The current challenge at Aud Sentiments is Vintage + A Sentiment.  We are sponsored by My Artistic Adventures.
I wanted to make Christmas tags with the images from My Artistic Adventures.  I thought the recipient of this card could use the tags on Christmas gifts. That makes this a card and gift all in one!

Thinking Of You

Sympathy cards are always my least favorite cards to make.  I wish I was better organized and had them made in advance but I am always scrambling at the last minute.  Maybe that will be a goal for 2017.
Anyway I used a Tilda stamp from Magnolia stamps for the outside and the flower on the inside is also from Magnolia Stamps

Pumpkin Card

I made this card (and 14 others just like it) to use as thank you cards.  My husband and I just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary.  Our boys hosted a bbq for us and we had a lot of fun visiting with family, friends and our wedding party. Needless to say, I needed several thank you cards.  This sketch from Sunday Stamps was just perfect. I made the pumpkin out of 3 pattern papers and a simple oval cut from the George Cricut cartridge. The stem is from the pumpkin from the Happily Ever After Cricut cartridge. (Cinderella's pumpkin)

My poor husband will be home working.

Birthday Card for My Husband

It's time for a new challenge at Aud Sentiments.  The theme of the challenge is For The Men In Our Lives + A Sentiment.
My husband loves ice cream so I used this cute image from Bugaboo Stamps.  I did a little something different with the sentiment.  I added 2 sentiments.  One is computer generated by me and the other is the die versions happy birthday corner die.  Usually I put the corner sentiment behind the image matting but I wanted to change things up a bit.  I placed it over the matting and added an old button from my button jar.  Everyone has a button jar, right?  Mine is actually a tin cookie canister of my grandma's.  I have collected buttons from both of my grandmothers, my mother in law and from some estate sales.  I always forget to use them in my projects.

for this challenge we are sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps.  I hope you join us in the challenge for a chance to win images from the Bugaboo shop

Christmas Card

Aren't Santa and Mrs Claus cute?  I had so much fun coloring up this stamp from Art Impressions.
While we were on vacation last month in Tennessee, I found a scrapbooking store that had lots of stamps and dies I hadn't seen before.  This stamp was one of them.  I am sure it will make it's way onto several cards for this holiday season.
Today is the midway reminder for Crafty Hazel Nut's Christmas extra challenge.  We would love to have you join us in the challenge.  It's a great way to get a stash of holiday cards made before the mad dash in December.
