Spring Card

I am so ready for Spring! We got several more inches of snow on Thursday and freezing rain last night with more winter weather on its way. I received my spring kit from Magnolia Stamps in the mail on Thursday and the timing couldn't have been better. Just in time to boost me out of the winter blahs!! This is the first card I made with my new stamps. I put two together to create this cute card. I don't know the names yet of these two stamps but the background is the wheelbarrel with the tulips and then Tilda with the bunny.
I entered this card into the following chalenges:

Sassy Studio Designs Challenge Shape Up

It's time for another Dare To Be Sassy Thursday challenge. This week our theme is "Shape Up" You can create any type of card that you want as long as it is not a square or rectangle. I really had fun with this card. I started with a circle card and then layered the peace sign from the Groovy Times Cricut cartridge on top. The digi image is Hippie Chick from the January release at Sassy Studio Designs. All of the peace sign layers came from one piece of pattern paper. The paper was color blocked and worked perfectly for this project. We would love for you to join us in this challenge. Simple create a shape card and link it up HERE for your chance to win.

Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge #48 Spots and Stripes

I love spots and stripes so the current challenge at Digi Doodle Shop's Best was a lot of fun for me. The image I chose for my DT card is Guard Dog and you can find it in the Digi Doodle Shop. This dog just makes me smile. We have 3 guard dogs at our house. Two of them are strays that found us and one we adopted from the shelter. They are all the biggest babies but they do let us know when strangers are around.
We would love for you to join us in this challenge. All you need to do is create a project using spots and stripes and link it up to the Digi Doodle Shop's Best challenge blog for your chance to win a gift certificate to the Digi Doodle Shop

Cruisin

Yesterday was my oldest son's 17th birthday! Where did all those years go? It seems like just yesterday we brought him home from the hospital. He has grown into quite the young man. He couldn't name even one thing he wanted for his birthday that was materialistic. He told me what he wanted was world peace. I told him I would get right on that! Anyway, this is the card that I made for him.

Scarlett O'hara Birthday Card

Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the challenge at One Stop Craft. Their theme for this challenge is Birthdays. I used one of the images from the February release at Sassy Studio Designs. This curtain dress was one of my favorite dresses that Scarlette wore in the move Gone With The Wind. I didn't get a picture of the inside of the card but the sentiment reads, "Fiddledeedee, It's your birthday!"

Altered Playstation Controller

This is my 15 year old son's project. He decided he wanted to paint his playstation controller. He took the controller apart and painted it black. He then cut out a few shapes in vinyl using my Cricut. He attached the vinyl pieces to the controller and used them like a mask since he wanted those images to remain black. Next he painted the entire controller blue. When dry, he splatter painted with black and then removed the vinyl. He did put a clear top coat over the entire controller. It is really cool despite the poor pictures. The only help he had from his mom was for me to show him where I kept the vinyl and to show him which Cricut cartridge had the image he was looking for.

Chef Tilda

This card is for a good friend of mine who is celebrating her birthday. I just adore this Magnolia stamp. It is Chef Tilda. I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop challenge this week. I decided that Tilda needed to bake a birthday cake because who doesn't like cake on their birthday? (well me, actually. I would prefer a frosted sugar cookie!) The measuring cups, spoons and the word cake were all cut with my Cricut. I used the Martha Stewart drippy goo border punch because aren't the best cooks messy?

For My Favorite Nerd Valentine

This is the Valentine I made for my 16 year old son. He proudly calls himself a NERD. He says he doesn't understand why some people say the word like it's a bad thing. I am pretty proud of my son. He maintains a high grade point average as well as participates in the following activities: marching band, symphonic band, plays in a trombone trio, tennis team, academic team, NHS, Smokebusters group, is a mentor for freshmen students, tutors in the mornings, spanish club treasurer, lectors at church, youth group at church, and does volunteer work. Whew! I'm tired just typing all of that! Anyway, I couldn't resist making him a Valentine that celebrates his inner nerdiness. I saw the word NERD spelled out this way using the periodic table and couldn't resist incorporating it into his card. I am entering this card into the weekly challenge on the Cricut Circle blog.

Princess Aurora Honey

Sassy Studio Designs is the sponsor for Aly's Sunday Challenge. The theme is Bling It Up. I decided to use my Spica pens for some bling on the dress, crown and necklace. I am a little disappointed in how the dress looks in the picture. In real life the dress is all shimmery and pretty and doesn't look streaky. I achieved the two toned color by coloring the whole dress with a pink spica pen and then going back over parts for a darker pink. I used a purple spica pen for the wasist and bodice trim. The necklace and crown were first colored with a copic pen and then with a gold spica pen.

For my card I decided to do something a little different. There are lots of wonderful images at the Digi Doodle Shop that would be great for Valentines Day cards but I decided to use some of the word art that is available in the shop. This Bible verse is one of my favorites and is makes the perfect Valentine.

Sassy Studio Designs Challenge Love Is In The Air

I am so excited. Today is turning out to be a very busy day for my blog. So much to show you and I hope that you enjoy my creations. This is my very first challenge as a DT member for Sassy Studio Designs. Our theme for this week is "Love Is In The Air" and you need to include a heart somewhere on your project. I added two hearts, the ribbon slider and then I made a heart out of red rhinestones. The image I used is from the new January release at Sassy Studio Designs. I wanted to give the fringe on her dress some sparkle so I colored over the copics with a clear spica pen. I also used a red spica pen on her shoes, dress and hat band. We would love to have you join us in this challenge. Simple link up your project to the Sassy Studio Designs challenge blog for your chance to win.

The kids are going to love the blue whale decorated with hearts and are going to be thrilled with their candy bars. We would love for you to join us in this challenge.
